the check out of san diego was sloooowww - pissed off i had to leave, spewing i hadn't booked more time here & devoed to leave my awesome suite, knowing there was a shitbox best western room awaiting me in huntington..
took a short stroll to starbucks & grabbed my morning ritual - grande non fat latte (apparently no one knows what a flat white is here..) + banana + "have an awesome day" by one of the millions of overly happy staffers.... this all perked me up a bit & i was off!!
the drive to Huntington was only meant to take 75minutes so i took my sweet time & found some paradises along the way.
mission bay / mission beach / la jolla (la hoya in aussie) / windandsea beach ---- all amazing & soo unexpected!!!
i had always thought we lived in the most beautiful place on earth.... nope sorry... there be places just as beautiful in california xxx

...so after ignoring my gps lady ("when possible do a U-turn!!") for most of the drive & enjoying finding all these beautiful spots on a whim, i thought best to actually set a destination!
SHOCK HORROR - Huntington was 3hours away!!!!! sshhhiitt!!! it was already 3pm & i was so sure it was just the next few beaches north....
even more sshhhiiitt was i was back on the mega monster highways for most part of the drive....seriously, people over here need to learn to merge - just coz your in a monster car that could swallow mine whole, doesn't mean you don't have to acknowledge me at all!!!
lucky they're soo high up in their GMC's that they can't see me flick 'em the bird or scream my head off (insert c words & d words here)...
finally in huntington at 6pm - it's dark, i'm starving & i never want to drive on the wrong side of the road ever again...
off to beds in my suuppper shitbox room (who puts the bathroom sink OUTSIDE the bathroom?!?!? in the bedroom?!?!?!)
..went to bed dreaming of an awesome O.C. filled tomorrow :)
